Hi Aavya. The sun was sharp. A crow's throat was dry. He found a pot. Water was in it, right at the bottom, and his beak could not reach. First he pushed the pot. It was heavy and did not move. Why not? The water and the clay held it to the ground. He tapped his beak and cawed. The water did not rise by a hair. Then he saw a pebble, round and small. Plop. One sound. Then plop again. Each pebble pushed the water up a little. His neck ached, and he did not stop. On the twelfth pebble the water touched his beak. He drank slowly, the way someone drinks a cool evening. Aavya, a big job is often finished in small plops.

Which Panchatantra stories are good for kids?
Start with the thirsty crow. Then the lion and the rabbit, the monkey and the crocodile, and the doves. Each one is short, for children about four to eight.
What do Panchatantra stories teach?
Finish a job pebble by pebble, stay together, stop talking at the wrong time, and return a kindness. One event, not a lecture.
Is my child's name saved?
No. The name appears only in the story on this page and is sent to make the voice. It is not stored in the link, a cookie, or a record.
