Privacy Policy
Bulbul · India · Last updated 27 September 2026
This page is for bulbul.club, the website. The Bulbul app is a separate product with its own account. Its policy is here: Privacy Policy for the Bulbul app.
Operator: Bulbul, bulbul.club. Questions and deletion requests: akshaya@bulbul.club. This follows the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
The website does not ask for an account
You can play a story without signing up. There is no phone number, PIN, or payment on bulbul.club. The stories are free to listen to.
The child's first name
If you type a first name, Bulbul speaks that name inside the story. The name stays in this browser tab so the next story can use it. It is not put in the page address, a cookie, or an analytics record.
To make the voice, the name and the story text are sent to a voice provider. We do not attach that name to an account, a device id, or a time. We do not sell it.
Close the tab and the name kept for that visit is gone. To ask us to clear anything still held for the website, email akshaya@bulbul.club.
Visits
We count how many times a page is opened, and whether someone pressed play, pause, next, or changed the language. A random id in this browser tab counts that visit once until the tab is closed. We do not use a cookie. We do not store the child’s name, the words of the story, or a waitlist email in this count.
What else the website uses
Story pages
The words of the story are in the page so a parent, and a search engine, can read them. That text does not include a real child's name until you type one on your own screen.
Waitlist
If you leave an email for early access, that email is the only thing the form stores. It is not tied to a child's name.
Voice files
A story may be kept briefly as audio so the same line does not have to be spoken again. That copy is not a parent profile.
The app is different
The Bulbul app can have a parent phone number, a PIN, an age band, and stories saved on the phone. That data is described in the app privacy policy, not on this page. To delete an app account, use the steps in that policy, or email the same address with the subject “Delete my Bulbul account” and the +91 number used in the app.
Children
The stories are written for young children, with a parent nearby. There is no chat, no comments, and no advertising on the story pages.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes. You may also approach the Data Protection Board of India.
